We specialize in solutions in the area of information and database technologies which cover both transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) systems. We focus on complex solutions which process medium and large data quantities and are often integrated into a demanding target IT environment. Our specialization is database solutions, mostly in the client-server design, using a thin client.
Development platforms (Java, .NET, PHP and others)
We use the Java platform for both smaller and extensive solutions, be it a web interface server application or a complex system consisting of many subcomponents or a specialized service performing a specific task. A suitable framework, mostly Spring or GWT, according to the application and target environment types is selected.
Using this platform, we realize our applications for such environments where compatibility with Microsoft products can be used to our advantage or where this technology is preferred. These are both classic Windows applications, back-end services and thin client server ASPX applications.
If we want to create a modern web presentation layer over our database solution, we choose the PHP object language and realization in some standard frameworks (mostly Nette or Zend). Both simple and effective web interfaces and complex critical business processes supporting applications, closely integrated into the client’s organization SOA infrastructure, are realized in the PHP language environment.
Others (Flex and C/C++)
We also use other technologies for specialized components of our solutions, especially where the maximum emphasis is placed on the complex user experience (Flex) or, on the contrary, when implementing the most exacting algorithms or when solutions to non-standard devices (C/C++) is needed.
Database technologies (Oracle and MS SQL)
Our solution on the Oracle platform uses very wide PL/SQL capabilities for application development, especially where you need to process effectively a larger data quantity in one place. In addition to these standard possibilities, we also use, within increased availability and security of our systems, more advanced properties such as Oracle Data Guard, Real Application Cluster, Oracle Flashback or tools such as Transparent Data Encryption, Virtual Private Database, and Oracle Encryption Toolkit.
The quickly developing Oracle Application Express (APEX; formerly HTML DB) technology is also used for selected components or smaller applications built over the Oracle database.
MS SQL is another, frequently used database solution, mainly for clients who prefer realization on Microsoft platforms. We develop and administer databases in all versions used, from the Express edition to Enterprise variants. When designing a database and its logics, we use the potential of the MS SQL server itself as large an extent as possible and, if this is desirable, also the server’s other extensions and tools such as SQL CLR, Reporting Services or replications.
Open source database technologies
Opensource databases designed for such environments where neither Oracle nor MS SQL, which we use, is not a suitable choice include especially the PostgreSQL database, which has been developed during the last years, or the universal MySQL database.
Our solutions feature complex integration into the surrounding environment, be it batch data exchange or online communication on the basis of particular services among several systems. When developing applications, we work with many integration standards and platforms.
A universal technology which is widely used for various communication types is Web Services, the implementation of which we realize on all development platforms used.
In such environments where IBM WebSphere MQ is used as the integration platform we realize connection both by means of superstructure connectors for database or web services interfaces and through a WebSphere platform XML interface.
Our solutions also enable you to communicate using other frequently used integration protocols such as SOAP, XML-RPC or HTTP REST API.
We mainly use Oracle tools for solutions in the business intelligence area (in such cases where Oracle DB is used as the database platform). These are e.g. Oracle BI or Oracle Warehouse Builder tools. The ETL layer is then based on the needs of given realization and uses both OWB possibilities and PL/SQL codes.
For environments built on the Microsoft platform, we use other tools for getting, preparing and presenting data such as integration Services, Reporting Services or the SharePoint portal platform.
We base the analytical part of realization on process analysis methods and model processing using the UML language in the Enterprise Architect CASE tool. Emphasis is placed mainly on modelling input requirements, processes, use-case models and others. Resulting models are then used as
a description of designed concepts and functionalities not only for our company’s realization team, but also for the client’s needs. A resulting analytical model is then further used in operating and developing solutions for an impact analysis, detailed system and system process documentation or as part of the specification when implementing changes.
