An article by Petr Dlouhý, the Commercial and Marketing Director of the company StringData, on the theme An important business criterion – an end user’s perception of portal applications was published in the December issue of the CIO Business World magazine. The article addresses the fact that companies still more often than not focus the most on the internal quality of the supply of IT services measured from the viewpoint of IT. You can learn why this approach is not completely ideal from the viewpoint of the business and of the policy in favour of clients, what is important to an end user, and what approach should be applied by an internal IT in this article.
6th annual conference of itSMF Czech Republic
As last year, we attended the annual conference of itSMF Czech Republic, the 6th conference this time, with the subtext “How to involve the business in IT management” that took place in the Diplomat hotel in Prague on 9 November also this year. We supported the conference not only by our attendance, but also as silver sponsors.
We presented the case study concerning the implementation of the SyDesk system in the Siebel CRM system in Česká spořitelna within the conference. The conferees learnt within the partner talk that end users, the business owner and the IT department have mostly incompatible views and requirements. The practical example of using the SyDesk debugging tool to monitor the Siebel CRM application in Česká spořitelna showed how all gained benefits from the cooperation of the IT department and the business. Mrs Pavla Setničková Nováková on the part of Česká spořitelna and Mr Jiří Havelka together with Petr Dlouhý, the Commercial Director of StringData, gave the talk. The talk met with an unusual reception from the conferees and became clearly the partner talk with the top attendance.
BeeWiser Becomes a Regular Partner for Education
As in the last year, our BeeWiser product supported the AEDUCA education festival that took place at the Palacký University in Olomouc on September 12 to 14 this year. Within this year’s festival, all speakers could give their presentations directly from the BeeWiser system and enrich their presentations with interactive elements and expound the whole talk to the other participants in this way. Within the festival, the participants had the opportunity to acquaint themselves in more detail with the system during the talk BeeWiser – A Little Bit Different Education and to learn about all the possibilities offered by the system. A Case Study in the CIO BusinessWorld
The case study of SyDesk in Česká spořitelna – the Siebel CRM – was published in the August issue of CIO BussinessWorld. The case study summarizes, among other things, also commercial benefits that were got from monitoring in that case, such as the possibility of defining precisely parameters in an SLA and verifying its performance, the possibility of analysing and optimizing bottlenecks in a process, the improved management of customer expectations, and the acceleration of analysing commercial impacts of a failure.
A Test Project at the Prague Airport
A test project has taken place at the Prague Airport, within which employees of the Prague Airport has had the opportunity to try the possibilities of SyDesk right at their company. The core of the test project has been the application monitoring of 5 key applications by means of SyDesk SimSuite simulation tools and the transfer of the measured results to SyDesk, that provides a wide range of options for the evaluation of that data – from viewing current states through notifications to the evaluation of SLA reports or statistics.

In the June issue of Bankovnictví, a monthly trade magazine for professional finances, an article from Petr Dlouhý was published, called IT Department And Pro-Client Approach (part 1, part 2). The article can be found in a special enclosure Tools For IT Management In Bank. The article focuses on the fact that in the past, and in many cases also nowadays, companies – banking and financial institutions not excluded – focus on the internal quality of IT services provision that is primarily evaluated from an IT view of individual departments. However, this approach is not quite ideal in terms of business, marketing and pro-client policy. It deals with a comparison of internal and external views of the company IT department and end user. And it tries to initiate the need of a bigger focus on a satisfied client. As the path, it represents so-called “reference simulations” and outlines our solution for end-to-end monitoring of SyDesk applications.

We are making claim management in Raiffeisenbank more efficient
At the beginning of this year, the LoanOffice implementation project was commenced in the company Raiffeisenbank. The initial analysis and foundation documentation preparation were carried out within the preparatory phase. Currently, the project is in the executing phase and the phase of a detailed analysis of requirements for LoanOffice customization in the environment of Raiffeisenbank a.s. is in progress. Pilot operation is planned to be launched in the second half of 2011.
The System Integration 2011 conference
We attended the Systémová integrace 2011 conference for the eighth time. Within the Monday’s session, we presented the BeeWiser product as an advanced multimedia tool in the case study E-learning as Part of the Commercial Strategy of the Company Fluke and in the lecture An E-learning System as a Competitive Advantage given by Petr Dlouhý. The implementation of a new LoanOffice system release in Wuestenrot has taken place. Together with release 2.2.0., the activation of automated groups has also been executed that has brought the options of automated processing. The whole recovery process run has thus become more transparent. The implementation of automated groups and use of process processing support has brought quickening a decision-making process and higher automation for most of claims to be solved.

The implementation of the SyDesk product has moved to another phase – the Supervisory Centre module has been handed over successfully that integrates the on-line supervision of RaiffeisenBank systems in a new console available within the SyDesk system. Together with handing over, also short operator training has been conducted and the next development of the supervisory centre has been planned.

According to individual requirements, the extent of monitored banking institutions and the evaluation of availability and effectiveness was adjusted to correspond to the standards in GE Money Bank.
SyDesk in Dopravní podnik hl. m. Prahy
Another win of our SyDesk products in the competitive bidding was announced on 23 December. We won the competitive bidding in respect of “Supervisory Information System for ASW and Portal Solutions” in Dopravní Podnik hl. m. Prahy, a.s. that time. During the last week of the past year, the installation of the server took place and now they are working on the first measurements.
Analysis in OGRPA
We have won the competitive bidding with respect to the “Existing Monitoring Tools Condition and Critical Applications Supervision Design” delivery for the Office of the Government Representation in Property Affairs. In spite of a very short time, we have managed to deliver a high-quality and comprehensive monitoring tools condition study with a critical applications supervision design.
SyDesk in Česká spořitelna
Our cooperation with Česká spořitelna continues successfully. Within the SyDesk product, the migration of the Workflow Manager application and infrastructure measurements took place, the monitoring of the Credit Monitoring Tool application was implemented and also the extension of the End-to-End monitoring of the WfM application with another measured step took place quite newly during the last quarter. The Tuxedo messages monitoring has currently been renewed and is in preparation for production.
BINF and SDBOX in AXA Bank
Our BINF and SDBOX products have gained us another client – a local branch of AXA Bank that belongs to the large international AXA Group. We handed over the BINF system for user tests to AXA Bank on 25/11/2010.
SD Box in ING
The handover of the SDBOX system into the ING Bank N.V. environment has taken place that enables the complex administration of data messages. The BINF product deployment takes place continuously in ING.

Festival Adult Education AEDUCA 2010
On 14-15.9.2010, we participated in the 6th Annual Festival of Adult Education AEDUCA 2010. The festival was held in the Art Center of the Palacky University in Olomouc and dealt primarily with the issues of current methods and trends in adult education. Within the festival, the StringData Company presented the BeeWiser system designed for electronic interactive education and knowledge testing with possibility of subsequent certification.
Another awarded project at GE Money Bank
The results of an internal competition of GE Money Bank, a.s. were announced on July 23, 2010. We participated in the competition as suppliers of the project called Hypos - Credit Restructuring. Within all projects nominated for the PM Award, our project finished in the third place, which is a proof of quality work of our specialists who can respond quickly and reliably to client’s requests.
Organizational changes of the top management
In order to support the dynamic growth of the company, we decided to change the organizational structure. This should lead, inter alia, to the improvement of the quality and process efficiency. Therefore, we created completely new business sales, which covers all business and marketing activities of the company. The responsible person of the department is Petr Dlouhý, Sales & Marketing Director. Another change is the unification of the implementation teams into the project department, which will be managed by Petr Sommer, Technical Director, and into the product department, which will be managed by Ondřej Kubelka, Product Development Director.
ČSOB – support system for application testing
We have started cooperation with ČSOB in the field of the support of user applications testing. Our cooperation does not stop when the system for support of the smoke testing of the electronic banking is delivered, but we also take care of its maintenance and operation. The main benefit of the system is accelerating the process of verifying the functionality after the deployment of new functionalities and thus shortening the time when the electronic banking is inaccessible to clients.

We won the tender for the tool for the definition and subsequent measurement of the quality of IT services launched by Raiffeisenbank a.s. SyDesk, a successful IT Service Management System, will be implemented including the module called Catalog of services.
BeeWiser in Fluke Corporation
Fluke Corporation, the global leader in handheld electronic test and measurement equipment, started using BeeWiser product for internal online employees training, online education for distribution partners and their end customers. Fluke Academy has a lot of additional plans for the future with BeeWiser.
Publication in CIO - Business World
The article called "Debt Management in Financial Institutions" by Luboš Haken and Tomáš Landovský was published in June issue of the magazine CIO - Business World. The authors focused on the reasons of the increased demand for information systems for debt management and recovery in the financial institutions. The example of debt management solution is a system called LoanOffice.
System Integration Conference 2010
As in the past five years, also this year, we participated in the Systems Integration Conference 2010. Within the Tuesday's block, in the case study called The Contribution of Availability and Performance Comparison of Competing Portal Solutions Not Only in Banking, we presented SyDesk as a tool for portal applications benchmark. On the second day, Petr Dlouhý presented Knowledge-based System of Debt Recover. He defined the benefits of automation and optimization of processes provided by information system for debt management and recovery.

On May 18, 2010, we participated in the scientific conference called Datové schránky po roce … a teď už pro všechny!, which dealt with knowledge, experience and problems of current operation of data boxes. System Integration Conference 2008
It has been already the third participation of SyDesk in System Integration Conference. Mr. Petr Dlouhy, director of SyDesk division, presented a case study regarding monitoring application availability and performance furthermore end user task simulations. The case study was presented by using a fully functioning implementation at The Office of the Government Representation in Property Affairs.

Data from CAN Bus
Finished the first stage of reading a processing data from CAN bus. This stage contains reading any data that are being provided (ie: fuel consumtion, total mileage) a view them on Web frontend. In next stage we're going to integrate these data into OrbMap application.
Ahold a.s.
The implementation of the second stage of the System for Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI) has been started in Ahold. The second stage contains the extension and generalization of implemented and verified functions in the primary stage.
New OrbMap
Released a new version of OrbMap software, which includes Drive Logs as a completly new feature. Drive Logs are generated from GPS data provided by each car, and requires no input from user.

The Office of the Government Representation in Property Affairs will apply SyDesk with its specialisation on application accessibility and activity monitoring. This will be applied as a supervision of critical systems.

Quake Unit
The modification of the Quake unit, which is reponsible for collection data inside a truck, to able to recognize beginning and end of a trip. Additionally GPS module was also modified a little bit, which resulted in improved accuracy to level higher than required.
GE Project Management Awards 3.Q
Our projects OPUS and Mortgage won the first place for the first and the second quarter of year 2007 in project evaluation at GE Money Bank. We picked up again the second place for the third quarter with project E-mail Gateway. This reward is perceived very positively in terms of GE Money Bank and it is also a proof of highly qualified professionals, that are able to meet requires of a challenging customer with proper timing and reliability.

Case study 2007 is the second run of the contest organized by a Business World Magazine. In a new publication (September 2007) Business World published a list of contest candidates which includes company StringData with their GE Money Bank project named "eVýpisy". This project is competing in several categories of the contest.
